Mayor Hickenlooper and Mayor Hagos Break Ground On City Of Axum Park Improvements

Denver Mayor John Hickenlooper and Mayor Ato Hagos Gebrewahid of Axum, Ethiopia, along with District 8 Councilwoman Carla Madison and Denver Parks and Recreation Manager Kevin Patterson, broke ground today on more than $620,000 in improvements at City of Axum Park, funded through the Better Denver Bond Program, Denver Capital Improvement Funding and a Park Hill Thriving Communities Grant.

Naadam is the most widely celebrated Mongolian festival and is a wonderful time to experience the culture and people of Mongolia. It commemorates the 1921 revolution when Mongolia declared its independence. All over the Mongolian countryside, small Naadams take place and in the first part of July, the national Naadam is celebrated in Ulaanbaatar.

The three day event brings the best sportsmen from around the country to Ulaanbaatar. The three sporting competitions represented are horse racing, wrestling and archery. The opening ceremony features parades and the music of monks, athletes and performers, before the fun begins.

Fall 2010 Trip to Potenza, Italy

Our trip is planned for arriving in Rome on Thursday night,
October 21st and returning to Rome on Saturday,
October 30th for departures either Saturday the 30th or
Sunday the 31st. We anticipate the cost to be between
$2,000 to $2,500 depending on how many people attend
and the price of the euro. We will have a tour bus taking
us around. Below is a very general itinerary.
