Distinguished Visit of the Mongolian Delegation March 18 – 19

For two days next week, an honored Mongolian Delegation, including the Speaker of the Great Khural (Parliament) of Mongolia; the Governor of Ulaanbaatar and the Mayor of the Capital City; the Mongolian Ambassador to the United States and other members will visit the City of Denver, this is part of a longer trip which includes Washington, D.C., New York, Toronto, Vancouver and Calgary.

Events throughout the two-day visit focus on the priorities of the Speaker and the Governor/Mayor. These include discussions with Mayor Hancock on the twelve-year Sister City relationship and the long standing relationship between Denver and Ulaanbaatar dating back to Mongolia’s students coming to Denver in pursuit higher education in the 1980’s.

During this visit, there will be two events open to the public. The first is a Welcoming Reception Monday evening at the Denver Botanic Garden from 6-7:30 p.m., co-hosted by the Ulaanbaatar Denver Sister Cities Committee. This is a very special opportunity for the City of Denver to celebrate our long and mutually-beneficial relationship with Mongolia and Ulaanbaatar. Mongolians have been and continue to be a significant community in Denver and the Ulaanbaatar Denver Sister City Committee looks forward to expanding this relationship for many years to come.
