Delegation from Brest, France makes Denver connections

A nine-member delegation from Denver’s Sister City of Brest, France visited Denver from September 22 – 29 to develop increased connections in the economic and educational sectors and to participate in Denver StartUp Week. The delegation included:

  • Reza Salami, Deputy Mayor
  • Julie Nuyts, Head Officer, Economic & International Development, Brest Metropole
  • Jean-Herve LaCroix, Manager, International Services, Brest Chamber of Commerce & Industry
  • Jeremy Morvan, Vice President, Technology Transfer & Business Development, University of Brest
  • Jeremie Bazin, Project Manager, Technopole Brest-Iroise and French Tech+ (Brest’s startup incubator)
  • Armel Guyomard, Chair, Brest-Denver Twin Cities
  • Jeff Istin, Founder, NMDAC Enterprises (a manufacturer of innovative beer dispensers for use in restaurants/bars)
  • Isabelle Istin, Co-Founder, NMDAC Enterprises
  • Benoit Corre, Owner/Brewer, Brasserie de Baril

Meetings were held with the Denver Office of Economic Development, World Trade Center Denver, University of Colorado Denver, Metropolitan State University of Denver, Colorado Brewers Association, and more.

The Denver-Brest Sisterhood will celebrate 70 years in 2018. This long-standing relationship is manifested through student exchanges at the elementary, middle, and high school levels; annual cultural tours; music exchanges; culinary exchanges; and more.
