Bridging Continents: Supporting Axum, Ethiopia

We are excited to share an update from our sister city Axum, Ethiopia. After a successful fundraising campaign led by the Denver Sister Cities International Axum Committee, a crucial shipment of medications and medical equipment was delivered to Kidiste Mariam (St. Mary’s Hospital) in Axum. Dr. Zekarias and his staff carefully assessed the needs and then procured the much needed equipment and supplies with funds that we provided.

This shipment carries more than just medical supplies; it brings hope and the promise of better health. It includes hundreds of units of essential medications for chronic illnesses and six oxygen regulators, significantly enhancing the hospital’s patient care capabilities.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Zekarias, whose dedication to the hospital and stewardship of our donations has been pivotal in this achievement. A special acknowledgement also goes to Axum Teklu for leading the fundraising efforts that made this possible.

This accomplishment reflects the generosity and compassion of the Denver community. Every donation has played a role in this success, helping to save lives and improve the quality of life for many in Axum.

As we celebrate this milestone, we are reminded of the continuous needs in Axum. Our commitment to supporting them remains steadfast, and we hope for your continued engagement with our efforts.

Thank you for being a part of this impactful journey. Together, we are building bridges of hope and healing across continents.
