Denver to Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia Delegation

August 14 - August 28

$10,195

The 30th Annual Sister Cities Delegation Trip to Mongolia, scheduled for August 14-28, 2024, offers an immersive exploration of Mongolia’s rich tapestry of history and culture juxtaposed with its modern developments. Participants will kick off their journey in Ulaanbaatar, where they will experience the dynamic contrast between ancient Buddhist monasteries and sleek high-rises. Highlights in the capital include a visit to the expansive Chinggis Khaan Museum and a welcome dinner at the Hazara Restaurant. The itinerary features a mix of urban experiences and adventures into the heart of the Gobi Desert, where delegates will stay at the renowned Three Camel Lodge and explore the diverse ecosystem that the desert offers, from rare wildlife to spectacular dunes at Hongoryn Els known as the “Singing Sands.”

The delegation will engage in various activities ranging from traditional Mongolian games and cultural demonstrations to discussions with local experts. A notable segment includes the drive to the scarcely visited Uush Mankhan Sanatorium, where the group will partake in a mini Naadam festival organized by the local community, showcasing traditional Mongolian sports. This enriching two-week trip not only strengthens the ties between Denver and Ulaanbaatar but also provides deep insights into Mongolia’s nomadic heritage and its contemporary societal fabric. This journey is ideal for those looking to engage deeply with Mongolia’s cultural and natural landscapes while fostering international goodwill and understanding.
