Mr. Gilbert K. Asakawa, Takayama Committee Chair Receives Order of the Rising Sun, Gold and Silver Rays from Japan

The Government of Japan made a significant announcement recognizing and appreciating the outstanding contributions made by foreign nationals in their respective fields. In line with this, the Consulate-General of Japan in Denver presented Mr. Gilbert K. Asakawa with the prestigious Order of the Rising Sun, Gold and Silver Rays yesterday. Mr. Asakawa has played key roles in various organizations, including the Japanese American Citizens League (JACL) Mile High Chapter and the Denver Takayama Sister City Committee.
