Meet Nairobi, Kenya.
Nairobi is Kenya’s capital and a center for commerce, innovation, and culture. Known as the Green City in the Sun, it brings together urban life, markets, cultural festivals, and nearby natural landscapes.
The city’s creativity and community life provide a setting for international learning and collaboration.
A friendship since 1975.
Denver and Nairobi formalized their sister city affiliation on March 2, 1975. The relationship launched with a Salute to Nairobi celebration featuring Kenyan dance, folk art, handicrafts, and products in downtown Denver.
Since then, the partnership has supported cultural understanding, educational connections, and people-to-people exchange between communities across continents.
